1. Who We Are

KidoLearning (www.kidolearning.com) is a bilingual K–6 educational platform for children. The platform is owned and operated independently in Ontario, Canada.

2. What We Collect — and What We Don't

Free Plan Users

The free plan requires no account, no registration, and no personal information of any kind. Learning progress is stored only in your browser's local storage — it never leaves your device.

Premium Subscribers

When a parent purchases a Premium subscription, we collect and store only:

• Subscription status — active, cancelled, or past due
• Country and province/state — collected during Stripe checkout for tax and reporting purposes
• Stripe Customer ID — a reference token (e.g. cus_ABC123) that links to your Stripe account. We never see or store your card number.
• Premium activation key — your unique family key (e.g. KIDO-CA-XXXX-XXXX-ON)
• Subscription dates — start date and expiry date

We do not collect your name, email address, or billing address — those are handled entirely by Stripe and subject to Stripe's own privacy policy.

3. Children's Privacy

This design is intentional. A child can use every feature of KidoLearning without us ever knowing they exist. That's by design.

4. How We Use the Data We Collect

The minimal data we collect is used only for:

• Verifying Premium subscription status when a family key is entered
• Processing subscription renewals and cancellations through Stripe
• Generating anonymous geographic reports (e.g. "412 subscribers in Ontario") to guide curriculum development — no individual is identifiable from these reports
• Responding to support requests if a parent contacts us

We do not use your data for advertising. We do not sell data. We do not share data with third parties except as described in Section 5.

5. Third-Party Services

Stripe

Payment processing is handled by Stripe. When you purchase Premium, you are submitting payment information directly to Stripe under their privacy policy and PCI DSS compliance. KidoLearning never sees or stores your credit card information.

Cloudflare

KidoLearning is hosted on Cloudflare Pages. Cloudflare may collect standard server logs (IP addresses, request timestamps) as part of normal web infrastructure operation. These are not used by KidoLearning for any purpose.

Google Fonts

We load fonts from Google Fonts. Google may log font requests per their standard policies.

6. Local Storage and Progress Data

All learning progress, child profiles, stars, streaks, and session data are stored in your browser's localStorage — on your device only. This data:

• Never leaves your device
• Is never transmitted to KidoLearning servers
• Can be cleared at any time by clearing your browser's site data
• Is device-specific — switching devices means starting fresh

7. Applicable Law — PIPEDA

KidoLearning operates in compliance with Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA). Canadian residents have the right to:

• Know what personal information we hold about them
• Request correction of inaccurate information
• Request deletion of their subscriber record
• Withdraw consent at any time by cancelling their subscription

8. Data Retention

Subscriber records are retained for 12 months after subscription cancellation for accounting and support purposes, then permanently deleted. Family and developer keys issued manually are retained indefinitely unless deletion is requested.

9. Changes to This Policy

If we make material changes to this Privacy Policy, we will update the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of KidoLearning after changes constitutes acceptance of the revised policy.
